How does the "Same Rule" work?
Apr. 7, 2010
1) First any spells and rules applicable and higher in hierarchy are
applied.

2) Condition: there is a minimum of two sides, i.e. two adjacent cards,
needed for this rule to apply

3) The number of the side of the card played by the player is compared
to the number on the side of the opponents card that is ‘touching’ the
players card

4) Since there is a minimum of two cards next to the players card needed
for this rule to work

5) The number on the player's card facing the adjacent card is = x

6) The adjacent number on the adjacent card is = y

7) Since there is a minimum of two cards next to the players card needed
for this rule to work

8) The other touching card next to the players card will be taken into
account

9) The number on that side is = a and the adjacent number on the
adjacent card is = b

10) If x and y are equal and if a and b are equal (and if the other card
currently belongs to the opponent), then the card is switched to the
player color

11) If there are three cards to be compared only the ones with equal
values are ‘turned’. So even if three cards are compared two is the
minimum of equal pairs of numbers necessary for any card to turn, three
is possible if all three compared numbers are equal.

12) If there are four adjacent cards to be compared then two, three or
four of the four numbers match. In case the four numbers match all the
opponents cards involved get flipped.(see visualization below)

13) Only the ones with equal numbers are possibly ‘turned’. So even if
four cards are compared, two is the minimum of equal numbers necessary
for any cards to be turned, three is possible if all three are equal and
four is the maximum that can be turned should all four numbers be equal.

How does the "Sum Rule" work?
Apr. 7, 2010
1) First any spells and rules applicable and higher in hierarchy are
applied.

2) As the card comes to the board, all adjacent cards vertically or
horizontally are potentially affected.

3) The effect is caused by calculating the sums of adjacent numbers of
adjacent cards and comparing them.

4) Condition: Next to the card played by the player, there is a minimum
of two sides, i.e. two adjacent cards, needed for this rule to apply.
These two adjacent cards can, but don't have to, belong to the
opponent.

5) The sum of these numbers is = x

6) The number of the side of the card played by the player is added to
the number on the side of the opponents card that is ‘touching’ the
players card. Since there is a minimum of two sides needed for this rule
to work. The other adjacent touching side will have the same calculating
done.

7) The sum of these numbers is = y

8) If x and y are equal, then the opponents card(s) involved is switched
to the player color

9) If there are three cards with sums that need to be calculated and
compared, only the ones with the sum equal are switched. So even if
three cards are compared, two is the minimum necessary for any card to
turn, three is possible if all three sums are equal.

10) If there are four cards to be calculated and compared only the ones
with the sum equal are switched.
There are these possibilities for the SUM rule to apply in this case:
All four sums are the same. In this case all the opponents cards
involved are flipped

Three of the four sums are the same. In this case again, any adjacent
cards involved that are currently of the opponents color, will be
flipped.

The sums match up two and two. In this case again, all the adjacent
cards that currently belong to the opponent change their owner.

So even if four cards are compared, two sums are needed at the minimum
for any card to turn , three is possible if all three are equal and four
is the maximum that can be turned should they all four be equal in sum
or should the sums equal each other two and two.

11) Now any further rules still applicable and lower in hierarchy are
applied.
